Ford recently initiated the first autonomous tests in snowy conditions, and is running tests in complete darkness to explore the capabilities of LiDAR technology, which allows the research vehicles to navigate on test tracks without the aid of any light whatsoever – not even headlights.

The Panda Bus Dynamic Shuttle mobility experiment announced at MWC Shanghai uses an algorithm – developed with researchers at Tsinghua University – to power a smarter, flexible scheduling tool for a fleet of Ford Transits that helps the people of Dalian, China, get around more conveniently.
